Earthmoving, land contouring and drainage

Our earthmoving gear includes an excavator and a bulldozer, backed up by our trucks. Between them they handle the earthworks that come up on a farm: shaping and contouring land, digging and clearing drains, and larger excavations like the one in the photograph.

Earthworks in the Waikato come with rules. Waikato Regional Council's earthworks guidance says every project that disturbs soil needs erosion and sediment controls, whether it is permitted or needs a consent, and that work on slopes over 25 degrees, within 100 metres of water or on a large scale may need a consent. Minor work in artificial farm drains, such as drain maintenance, is likely to be permitted if it meets good practice and water quality conditions, but deepening farm drains, particularly near natural wetlands, will usually need one. If you are not sure where your job sits, check with the council before work starts.

Spoil, fill and other loads can be moved with our general cartage trucks.
